First Look at German Fantasy Epic ‘Hagen’
Hagen follows the story of the soldier Hagen, the legendary dragon slayer Siegfried, the princess warrior Kriemhild, and the magical Valkyrie queen Brunhild in a tale of love, family, power and war that ends —this is a Germanic tale after all — catastrophically.
Gijs Naber (The Story of My Wife) stars as Hagen, with Jannis Niewöhner (Munich) as Siegfried. Lilja van der Zwaag (Stralshund) portrays Kriemhild, and Rosalinde Mynster (Truth About Men) plays Brunhild. The ensemble cast also includes Dominic Marcus Singer, Jördis Triebel and Jörg Hartmann.
Cyrill Boss and Philipp Stennert (Pagan Peak) directed the series and co-wrote Hagen with Doron Wisotzky.
Constantin produced Hagen as both a six-part series and a feature film. Jan Ehlert, Christoph Müller and Christian Rohde produced with Filip Hering as co-producer and Constantin Film’s Martin Moszkowicz and Oliver Berben as executive producers.
Fremantle, which successfully sold the Constantin/Amazon Studios production We Children From Bahnhof Zoo to more than 92 territories, will present Hagen as one of the highlights of its upcoming slate at the London TV Screenings on Friday, March 1.
